Good treatment is in our nature.

Tradition-conscious and forward-looking: KIRINUS Alpenpark Klinik has been an institution on Lake Tegernsee since 1962. Run by the family for three generations, we set standards at the highest medical level in a sophisticated ambience.

Our treatment concept

The KIRINUS Alpenpark Klinik follows a concept that is unique to Germany. An experienced specialist will draw up a personal treatment plan with an individual combination of therapies and will remain your contact person throughout your stay. In addition, each patient is assigned a 'reference therapist'. This creates a close relationship that enhances the success of your treatment.

Most of our doctors, psychologists and therapists have been with us for many years. They work together as a well-rehearsed team and closely coordinate therapies to help you achieve your goals.

It is important to us that we continue to develop our expertise in the clinic. Which is why naturally, our employees increase their wealth of experience through regular further training and share it with each other. For this reason, medical congresses, further training courses and lectures are also held on the premises of the KIRINUS Alpenpark Klinik.

Our treatment approach for aftercare

Specialists and therapists

Our clinic has developed a treatment concept that is unique to Germany. Every patient is looked after by an experienced specialist during their stay at the clinic. Our 'reference therapist' principle also means that you have a fixed contact person for all treatments and therapy appointments.

Returning to everyday life

It is important to us that you return to everyday life after your rehabilitation with us, free of symptoms and able to cope independently. If you are working, our aim is for you to maintain or regain your ability to work.

We want you to be as prepared as possible for everyday life when you leave hospital. At the clinic, we provide you with comprehensive knowledge, for example, on how to use your medication and various assistive devices.

The four pillars of our treatment programme

Physical recovery

After a serious illness or operation, your body is weakened and unstable. Fresh surgical wounds are often painful and the function of organs or joints has not yet been (fully) restored. Our nursing team is specially trained in wound management and is able to professionally monitor and ensure the healing process of your wounds so that your recovery goes smoothly. Your personalised treatment plan is designed to quickly reduce any long-term functional impairment and increase your physical performance.

Psychological healing

Hospitalisation, surgery, chronic pain and difficulty coping independently can all take a toll on the human psyche. Patients often feel depressed, anxious, insecure and can develop symptoms of depression. This is why we place special emphasis on the mental recovery of our patients. Our clinic also has a private acute psychosomatic unit, so we have excellent in-house mental health expertise.

Managing the illness

Compassionate psychiatrists and psychotherapists help our rehab patients learn how to cope with pain or activate their inner resilience, mainly through group training sessions on a variety of topics.

Integration into (professional) life

We want you to be as prepared as possible for everyday life when you leave the hospital. At the clinic, we teach you how to use your medications and assistive devices, provide social and medical counselling, and inform you about transitional care and management. If you are interested, you can also sign up for diabetes training and nutrition counselling. We can also advise you on your aftercare or outpatient therapies after your stay at the clinic.

Our diagnostic services

To ensure that you feel comfortable and well looked after, we use the latest diagnostic procedures and our own laboratory to monitor your health at all times, just like in an acute care hospital, and to adjust your individual therapy at short notice.

A special feature of our rehabilitation clinic is that our examinations are carried out in-house. We have had our own diagnostic team for decades and are also a recognised training company.

  • Our diagnostic equipment:
    • Laboratory
    • ECG, exercise ECG (ergometry), 24-hour long-term ECG
    • 24-hour long-term blood pressure measurement
    • Sleep apnoea screening
    • Pulmonary function test (spirometry)
    • Digital X-ray
    • Bone density measurement
    • Ultrasound examinations with vascular duplex, colour Doppler echocardiography, thyroid and abdominal sonography
    • 4-D force measurement
    • Spinal column measurement
    • Wirbelsäulenvermessung

Our treatments and therapies

Getting well is like a walk. There are ups and downs and sometimes twists and turns, but with each step of your treatment you get closer to your goal.

Throughout your stay, your therapist will work with you according to a treatment plan tailored to you and your condition. The following applies: We want to challenge you, not overwhelm you.

For your therapy, we have well-equipped treatment rooms, the clinic's own swimming pool, the exercise pool and, last but not least, our beautifully situated Alpine park. Our tip: take a break from time to time and reward yourself with a view of Lake Tegernsee and the magnificent Alpine panorama.

Procedure

How will my rehab proceed?

1. Admission and arrival

At the beginning of your rehab programme, you will undergo an initial examination and have an initial consultation to get to know our therapeutic team and your personal contact person.

2. Therapy

Once you have been admitted, your personalised treatment plan will be drawn up.

3. Final phase

Finally, our team will discuss the progress of your therapy and your recovery with you, and you will receive all the results and a final report from us.

Interdisciplinary post-COVID-AHB after COVID-19 disease

Patients who have survived a severe course of COVID-19 are often recommended to undergo coronary rehabilitation tailored to their specific needs after COVID-19 disease.

Initial mobilisation should have been completed. However, patients who still require oxygen should primarily undergo pulmonary rehabilitation in a suitable specialist lung clinic.

Together with our team of doctors of cardiology, orthopaedics, gastroenterology and psychosomatics, we have developed an interdisciplinary medical concept for follow-up treatment that focuses on physical and mental regeneration after COVID-19. Patients undergo a holistic medical check-up with individually tailored therapy.

  • What does the follow-up treatment do?
    • Admission assessment with medical examination, exercise test (e.g. 6-minute walking test, ergometry), echocardiography (to rule out cardiac damage/relevant involvement of the heart), long-term ECG
    • Psychosomatic diagnostics (exhaustion/fatigue syndrome, also in order to differentiate from depressive moods), treatment of sleep disorders and psychological support
    • Gradually monitored medical training therapy and targeted respiratory gymnastics (if necessary also wound care after tracheostomy)
    • Relaxation therapy with gymnastics, yoga
    • Concentration and memory training
    • Education and counselling, reintegration into professional life
    • Odour training for loss or impairment of the sense of smell or taste
    • Nutritional counselling, if necessary high-calorie supplementary nutrition for severe weight loss
    • Treatment of concomitant diseases such as diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, cardiac insufficiency
  • Admission requirements:

Follow-up treatment is available to privately insured patients, self-paying patients and patients entitled to benefits.

  • Duration of follow-up treatment:

The total length of stay at our private clinic in Bad Wiessee is up to 21 days, with the possibility of an extension if medically indicated and requested by the attending physician to the health insurance company.
