We believe that an atmosphere of well-being can speed up the healing process. That's why we follow the principles of healing architecture in our interior design: pleasant lighting conditions, clear orientation, a well thought-out colour scheme and designer furniture specially adapted to the needs of rehab patients. Through our 'pictures with healing power' we also want to support you on your way to recovery. The traditional Bavarian style, the use of regional materials combined with modern furnishing trends convey a stylish 'cosiness' of the highest order, which is particularly appreciated by our guests.
Our rooms and suites are as individual and unique as you are. A total of 85 comfortable rooms and 35 spacious suites are available, all with high-quality furnishings. The elegant, homely design is combined with maximum functionality so that even patients with limited mobility can carry out everyday tasks without assistance. Our rooms and suites are equipped with ergonomic hospital beds by default to ensure a healthy night's sleep.
Our clinic complex is located within 20,000 square meters of a beautifully landscaped park overlooking Lake Tegernsee. Sun loungers, parasols and benches invite you to relax outdoors during treatment breaks. Sun loungers, sports equipment (e.g. stand-up paddle boards) and towels are available free of charge on the lakeside grounds, which are easily accessible via a small residential road. Over the years, the clinic site has grown with the acquisition and development of additional buildings. As a result, our patient accommodation is spread over several buildings. They are, of course, all connected to the main building where the reception and patient restaurants are located.

Our rooms range in size from 16 to 40 square metres and are classified as 'Classic', 'Comfort' and 'Superior' depending on their size and location. Most rooms are in the main building, the Defreggerhaus and the Wallberghaus. Most of them have a balcony or terrace, so you can enjoy the view of the greenery and mountains in the fresh air.
With a total of 35 suites ranging in size from 40 to almost 90 square metres, guests can choose between 'Junior' and 'Executive' suites. They can be found in all the buildings on the clinic site, on the ground floor as well as on the upper floors. Our largest suites have their own names: Suite Anna, Suite Ringsee and Suite Tegernsee. We have created particularly spacious suites with high ceilings and light-flooded rooms in the Ringberghaus, which was constructed in 2016. The suites, which range in size from 55 to 90 square metres, have a connecting door and can be extended to around 110 or even 145 square metres. This means that the KIRINUS Alpenpark Klinik offers the most spacious clinic suite in Bavaria. They are also equipped with spacious bathrooms and plenty of storage space for personal belongings.
Would you like to spend your stay with us in company? Then your partner is also welcome at KIRINUS Alpenpark Klinik. Our spacious, elegantly designed rooms and suites, together with our superb location on the shores of Lake Tegernsee, ensure that your family will feel right at home.
We want to pamper you with first-class culinary delights and create the best conditions for a speedy recovery with the right food. It's worth taking a look at the menu and out of the window of our restaurants - timeless in design with a touch of Alpine upland flair. The natural panorama of our Alpine Park seeds the appetite for deliciously presented healthy dishes. Our chef, Athanasios Angeloussis, follows the philosophy that "healthy food can only come from good ingredients" and creates fresh delicacies from local produce every day. Seasonality and careful preparation ensure a balanced cuisine that is good for body and soul.
Here at the KIRINUS Alpenpark Klinik, the encounter between chef and guest is much more intense. This is simply due to the longer length of stay and the individual nutritional counselling. It is a special challenge for me and a matter close to my heart to support sick people with healthy and tasty meals.
My patients always teach me to be grateful and human. I now see health even more as a great gift. Rehabilitation is an intense time, with a lot of work on the body and soul. Every day I learn how to support my patients even better. With honest, good and tasty food, attractively presented. Or by putting them in a good mood for breakfast so they can start their day positively. Or with a surprising recipe - like my homemade blackcurrant spread with white chocolate and blackcurrants. Eyes light up and the healing begins.
We don't favour a particular national cuisine here, but rather a combination of freshness, seasonality and regionality. For me, freshness doesn't just mean avoiding ready-made products, but above all finding the quickest possible way from the field to the plate. Fresh ingredients are prepared with great care to preserve as much of the vitamins, minerals and trace elements as possible. When choosing fruit and vegetables, we follow the course of nature. When you eat what is in season, you are automatically eating a varied and high-quality diet. The origin of the products is also very important to us. We work very closely with regional suppliers to source our fish, cheese, dairy products and meat. For us, regional products not only mean preserving the local food culture, but are also an expression of our sense of responsibility towards our region.
Getting well at Tegernsee has a long tradition. The first pilgrims who knew of the healing powers of St. Quirinus' oil came to the Tegernsee monastery around 500 years ago. In the 19th century, the aristocracy regularly came to Kreuth for spa treatments. Bad Wiessee has Germany's strongest iodine sulphur springs, which have been used for healing since the early 1900s.
The communities in the Tegernsee Valley offer cultural events such as art exhibitions, concerts, festivals and guided tours. There is plenty to discover for you and your visitors.
If you are a sports enthusiast, you will find plenty to do in the valley, including sailing, golfing, cycling and swimming. In the Tegernsee Health Climbing Park, numerous hiking trails and Nordic walking routes lead you on various tours through the picturesque landscape around the lake.
But you don't have to go far to have the Tegernsee all to yourself. From the clinic's own jetty, you can enjoy the impressive lake panorama at its best.
The 'Suite Anna' is the largest suite in our clinic and is named after its founder, Anna Klitzsch. Our clinic is a traditional family-run hotel on Lake Tegernsee. In the middle of the 20th century, young Anna, who had settled in the spa region with her seriously ill husband Ludwig, founded the clinic as an 'Alpine sanatorium'.
Since then, the facility has evolved into a modern medical centre for follow-up treatment and rehabilitation, and today stands for upscale facilities and medical excellence.
The history of our clinic begins shortly after the end of the Second World War, when Anna Klitzsch, a Berliner with Danish roots, moved to Tegernsee with her seriously ill husband Ludwig. At that time, the region was already popular with spa guests, with its health-promoting climate and numerous doctors. It was in this environment that the entrepreneurial Anna decided to set up the 'Alpensanatorium Wiessee', a private clinic for wealthy spa guests seeking peace and relaxation. Over 20,000 square metres of well-tended parkland and a magnificent view of the Ringsee, the most picturesque part of Lake Tegernsee, still offer the best conditions for this today. From the very beginning, it was important to the founder that her guests should feel at home. Instead of a hospital atmosphere, they should experience a temporary home.
At the end of the 1970s, a period of upheaval began for the clinic: the Oetker Group, which had run the Alpensanatorium from the outset, withdrew. From 1977 Anna Klitzsch ran the clinic herself. Two years later, her son, Ludwig Klitzsch II, took over and opened a new chapter in the history of the family business.
The Alpensanatorium became the Klinik im Alpenpark. Far-sighted personnel decisions and targeted investments in the medical infrastructure set the course for the reputation the clinic enjoys today. The number of patients increased and the clinic grew step by step. At the end of the 1980s, the clinic's focus on internal medicine was expanded to include the treatment of orthopaedic conditions. Another milestone at the end of the 1990s was the clinic's approval for follow-up treatment.
In 1989, founder Anna Klitzsch died at the age of 75. Just one year later, her son Ludwig II was tragically killed in an accident. In the years that followed, no member of the family was involved in running the clinic. However, Sibylle Klitzsch, the mother of the current director, Ludwig III, remains in close contact with the clinic's staff and patients.
A new generation took over in 2007: Ludwig Klitzsch III, grandson of founder Anna Klitzsch, took over the management of the clinic together with his wife Ursula. Like the two previous generations, Ludwig and Ursula Klitzsch are committed to leading the clinic into a successful future. The harmony of tradition and modernity, the upmarket facilities combined with medical expertise are the recipe for success.
We believe that along with the right medical care, getting well has a lot to do with feeling well.
